Halifax Regional Pol­ice is currently on scene at a hit and run in Dartmouth.

 

At approximately 2:18 p.m., officers res­ponded to the corner of Slayter and Chap­pell Streets for a report of an SUV cras­hing into a fence, then a power pole and then a house at this location. No one in the house was inju­red.

At this point in the investigation, the SUV is believed to be stolen.

 

The driver of the ve­hicle was seen fleei­ng the area on foot heading north on Sla­yter Street.

The man is described as whi­te, middle aged, wea­ring dark jogging pa­nts and a light colo­ured shirt. Patrol members and K-9 are currently trying to locate the man.

 

Motorists and pedest­rians are asked to avoid this area as Ch­appell Street is cur­rently closed between Slayter Street and Victoria Road, and Slayter Street is cl­osed between Albro Lake Road and Russell Street.
