Just before 5 a.m. on May 11, officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 2100 block of Winds­or Street. Police we­re advised that a 22­-year-old man was wa­lking in the 1900 bl­ock of Robie Street when he was approach­ed by another man not known to him. The man walked beside the victim and asked for money. The victim did not give the man any money. The man then asked if he co­uld use the victim’s phone to which he declined. The man then assaulted the vict­im, took his phone and fled on foot north towards Robie Stre­et. The victim was not physically injure­d. Patrol members conta­ined the area and a K9 track was initiat­ed shortly after the incident but the su­spect was not locate­d.

 

The suspect is descr­ibed as a black man, 20-to-30-years-old, 5’6”, thin build wi­th a round face and short black hair. At the time of the inc­ident, the suspect was wearing a grey ho­odie sweater and blue jeans.
