Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred this morning in Halifax.
Just before 5 a.m. on May 11, officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 2100 block of Windsor Street. Police were advised that a 22-year-old man was walking in the 1900 block of Robie Street when he was approached by another man not known to him. The man walked beside the victim and asked for money. The victim did not give the man any money. The man then asked if he could use the victim’s phone to which he declined. The man then assaulted the victim, took his phone and fled on foot north towards Robie Street. The victim was not physically injured. Patrol members contained the area and a K9 track was initiated shortly after the incident but the suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as a black man, 20-to-30-years-old, 5’6”, thin build with a round face and short black hair. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a grey hoodie sweater and blue jeans.
