The incident on Harbourview Drive has concluded and the street has reopened to the public.​ Due to the nature of the call and privacy reasons, we are unable to provide additional details. There was never any risk to the public. We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding

Halifax Regional Police is currently dealing with an incident on Harbourview Drive in Halifax.
At 5:41 p.m. police were called to Harbourview area. Tower Road and Young Avenue were closed to traffic but have reopened. Harbourview Drive remains closed to all traffic.​ As a result​ of this incident it was required for police to request the power in that area to be shut down for the safety of all involved. The resulting power outage has also​ affected a large number of traffic lights. There is a lot of pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic in the area and Police area asking everyone to use all precautions if travelling​ in the effected area.​ Motorists are​ encouraged to stay out of that area.​ ​
Due to the nature of the incident Police are not releasing any details other than to say that there is no risk to the public. There is currently no estimated time for the incident to be resolved but it is hoped that power should be restored in the next 30-60 minutes.
