Halifax Regional Police lay charges in IWK Health Centre fraud complaint

Today, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) laid charges in relation to a complaint of financial mismanagement involving the expenses of a former CEO of the IWK Health Centre.

Subsequent to a complaint, received from the IWK Board of Directors on September 20, 2017, investigators with the Financial Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division made two arrests today.

This morning, with assistance from Halton Regional Police Service and Toronto Police Service respectively, 57-year-old Tracy Leanne Kitch of Oakville, Ontario was arrested at her homes without incident.

Kitch is charged with fraud over $5,000 and breach of trust. D’Arcy faces charges of breach of trust, unauthorized use of computer and mischief to data.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 20, 2018 at 10 a.m.
