Halifax Regional Police Officer Injured in Motorcycle Accident

A Halifax Regional Police officer was injured following a single motor vehicle accident this morning in Bedford.

A Halifax Regional Police officer was injured following a single motor vehicle accident this morning in Bedford.

At 10:40 a.m., an officer assigned to the Integrated Traffic Unit was travelling inbound on Highway 101 and took the ramp to Highway 102 heading towards the airport. As he was proceeding on the ramp, his motorcycle encountered fluids on the pavement causing him to lose control and crash onto the roadway. He was taken to hospital by EHS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  

The ramp was closed for a short period of time while the collision was being investigated. The Department of Transportation also attended the location to remove the fluids from the ramp.
