Halifax Regional Police responded to numerous reports of trees and power lines down across the roads.

Police assisted partner agencies with 4 apt buildings with damaged roofs. Assisted with evacuating and relocating tenants to comfort shelters. A large construction crane on Brenton St, Halifax, was brought down by heavy winds. The crane fell onto a building under construction on South Park St. There were no injuries. South Park St remains closed between Spring Garden Rd and University Ave.

With wide spread power outages, Police would like to remind motorists to treat intersections as 4 way stops, if the traffic lights are out.
