Halifax Water PSA – Chlorine Level Advisory – Burnside Area

Chlorine Level Advisory – Burnside Area
(Sunday, December 12, 2021) Halifax Water has experienced an issue with the water treatment process within the Burnside area. As a result, customers in the Burnside Area of Dartmouth could temporarily experience higher levels of chlorine in their drinking water.
If there is a strong odour of chlorine from your tap, customers are advised to let their COLD water run until it is no longer noticeable. If the odour persists, wait a few hours and again try running only the cold water again. If you do notice this odour, we respectfully ask that you contact our Customer Care Centre at 902-420-9287.
Halifax Water is conducting sampling and our operations team is currently flushing the system to address the issue.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
