Halifax Water Offices Closed on Monday to Recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

(September 29, 2023) Halifax Water offices will be closed on Monday, October 2, to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Established by the Government of Canada and recognized by the Province of Nova Scotia and HALIFAX, it is an important step in the reconciliation process with our indigenous communities.

This day is an opportunity for all of us to recognize and commemorate the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools and honour their survivors, families and communities.

While we observe this day, we want to assure our customers that we remain committed to serving them and will operate with a smaller group of core critical staff.

Halifax Water will continue to respond to and address any urgent water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure matters. Our Customer Care Centre Emergency Line remains open 24/7 at 902-420-9287.

We remain focused on making progress on truth and reconciliation for our employees, stakeholders and community members.
