Halifax Water PSA – Traffic Advisory – Dutch Village Road – Wastewater System Maintenance

Traffic Advisory – Dutch Village Road – Wastewater System Maintenance (November 21, 2022) From November 22 to 24 (weather dependent), Clean Water Works Canada, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology on Dutch Village Road, Halifax. This work will not impact water service in the area. Traffic Impacts:
* From 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on November 22 (weather dependent), there will be a lane reduction on Dutch Village Road, Halifax, near Deal Street. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Sidewalks will remain open. * From 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on November 23 (weather dependent), there will be lane reductions on Dutch Village Road, Halifax, between Joseph Howe Drive and Frederick Avenue. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Some sections of the sidewalk in this area will be closed with pedestrian detours in place. * From 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on November 24 (weather dependent), there will be stop-and-go traffic on Dutch Village Road, Halifax, between Rosedale Avenue and Alma Crescent. Sidewalks will remain open, with some temporary pedestrian routes in place. CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with a resin and then cured using steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
