Halifax Water PSA – Traffic Advisory – Flinn Street – Wastewater System Maintenance

Public Service Announcement
Traffic Advisory – Flinn Street – Wastewater System Maintenance (November 10, 2022) From 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on November 16 (weather dependent), there will be lane reductions at the intersection of Flinn Street, Halifax, and Westmount Street. Two-way traffic will be maintained. This work will not impact water service in the area. Clean Water Works Canada, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology in this area. CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with a resin and then cured using steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
