Traffic Advisory – Hammonds Plains Road – Stormwater System Maintenance
(June 6, 2022) Starting the week of June 20, Halifax Water will be replacing a critical cross culvert on Hammonds Plains Road between Yankeetown Road and Wallace Hill Road. Halifax Water and our contractor, Dexter Construction, will work to complete this project as efficiently as possible over a 6-8 week period. Traffic will be stop-and-go through the work area for the duration of this work. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones. This culvert is approaching the end of its useful life and must be replaced to ensure the efficient flow of stormwater and protect the integrity of this critical roadway. This project will add further resilience and reliability to the stormwater system that serves the community. We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure repair work may cause.
To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
