Halifax Water PSA – Traffic Advisory – Prince Arthur Avenue – Wastewater System Maintenance

Traffic Advisory – Prince Arthur Avenue – Wastewater System Maintenance
(February 24, 2025) From 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on February 28 (weather dependent), there will be stop-and-go traffic near the intersection of Prince Arthur Avenue and Pleasant Street, Dartmouth.
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Sidewalks in the work zone will be closed.
This work will not impact water service in the area.
Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology in this area.
CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with a resin and then cured using steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
