Water Service Advisory – Akerley Reservoir Returns to Operation – Potential Changes in Water Pressure for Dartmouth Area

(September 15, 2023) Halifax Water will bring its Akerley Reservoir back into service beginning on Friday, September 15. For the past year, this reservoir has undergone significant upgrades.

As this infrastructure is brought back online, customers in the Dartmouth area could potentially experience temporary changes in water pressure and may notice a stronger smell or taste of chlorine.

There is also the potential for discoloured water during/following this work. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. To learn more about discoloured water and to report it, please visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water<www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water>.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure repair work may cause.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
