Water Service Advisory – St. Michaels Avenue and Lois Lane Area – Temporary Water Disruption
(May 20, 2022) Dexter Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water, is working on the St. Michaels Avenue Water Main Replacement Project. Operations will require an interruption to water services in the area on Thursday, May 26th , 2022, beginning at 9:00am. This interruption is scheduled to last until Thursday, May 26th , 2022, at 5:00pm, after which regular service will be restored.
There will be no water service in the affected area during this shut down.
Water service will return to normal once the work has been completed.
Before the water service is shut-off, we recommend that you close your water service isolation valve and shut off the power to your hot water tank to avoid the potential for back siphonage and to protect the heating element. To ensure that you have water during this period, please fill any empty containers you own so you will have water for drinking, cooking, or flushing toilets.
Once water services are restored, please run your cold water tap to clear any discolored water that may occur. More information on what to do if your water is discolored can be found at www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.
We thank you for your patience and understanding and we will continue to work to minimize service disruptions in the area.
To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
