(August 8, 2022) At 9:00 AM on Tuesday, August 9, Halifax Water crews will be undertaking an emergency water main repair near 1690 Bedford Highway, Bedford. Water service will be temporarily shut down in the impacted area (see attached map) from 10:00 PM on August 9 until 6:00 AM on August 10. Our crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore water service to our customers. Two-way traffic will be maintained through the work area with a single lane in each direction. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Sidewalks remain open. Crews expect traffic to return to normal by 4:00 PM on August 10. Customers in the area may experience discoloured water during/following this repair. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear.
