Water Service & Traffic Advisory – Gottingen Street & Cornwallis Street – Water Valve Replacement
(June 1, 2022) From 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, to 10:00 AM on Sunday, June 5, Halifax Water crews will be replacing a critical water valve at the intersection of Gottingen Street and Cornwallis Street, Halifax. Traffic Impacts There will be stop-and-go traffic through the intersection of Gottingen Street and Cornwallis Street. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Sidewalks along the west side of this work will be closed. Water Service Impacts Water service will be temporarily shut down in the areas shown on the attached map from 11:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, to 8:00 AM on Sunday, June 5. Customers in the area may experience discoloured water during/following this work. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
