Water Service & Traffic Advisory – Gottingen Street – Water Valve Replacement
(May 11, 2022) From noon on Saturday, May 14, to 10:00 AM on Sunday, May 15, Halifax Water crews will be replacing a critical water valve on Gottingen Street, Halifax. Traffic Impacts Gottingen Street will be open to local traffic only between Cunard Street and Cornwallis Street. Sidewalks along the west side of this work will be closed. Detours will be in place. There will be stop-and-go traffic through the intersection of Gottingen Street and Cornwallis Street. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Water Service Impacts Water service will be temporarily shut down in the areas shown on the attached maps from 11:00 PM on Saturday, May 14, to 8:00 AM on Sunday, May 15. Customers in the area may experience discoloured water during/following this work. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
