Halifax welcomes Evangeline Colman-Sadd as new Auditor General

Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – Regional Council is pleased to announce Evangeline Colman-Sadd as the new Auditor General for the Halifax Regional Municipality, following a national recruitment process over the past number of months. “On behalf of Regional Council, I’m pleased to welcome Evangeline to the Halifax Regional Municipality following her years in the Nova Scotia Office of the Auditor General,” said Halifax Mayor Mike Savage. “I would also like to extend a warm thank you to Larry Munroe, our outgoing and inaugural Auditor General, for the significant work his office has done to improve accountability and transparency of municipal programs and services over the past seven years.” “We look forward to working with Evangeline as she and her team build on the strong track record of our Office of the Auditor General,” said Audit and Finance Standing Committee Chair, Councillor Linda Mosher. “I have every confidence that Evangeline will prove a capable, dynamic, and wise Auditor General dedicated to serving the public interest.” Ms. Colman-Sadd is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) with over 20 years’ audit experience. Originally from Branch, Newfoundland and Labrador, Evangeline graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her chartered accountant designation in 1998. After moving to Nova Scotia, she joined the Office of the Auditor General of Nova Scotia where she has held various positions, including most recently as Assistant Auditor General responsible for performance audit. "I’m looking forward to my new role as Auditor General and continuing the great work that’s been underway over the past several years to establish the Office of the Auditor General for the Halifax Regional Municipality," said Ms. Colman-Sadd.
