Through our team of bloggers, on-air talent and sophisticated live streaming infrastructure, our goal is to deliver an unmatched level of local sports coverage exclusively online. While it’s already possible to get local sports coverage via traditional media, Sportstream aims to focus exclusively on what’s happening in Atlantic Canada. We live here, and we’re from here.
Strong Roots
Sportstream began life in 2008 as the sports division of haligonia.ca, Halifax’s leading online source of live video and news. The parent company, Vocalocal Media, is no stranger to providing local content thanks to a network of other brands such as ScotiaToday.ca and OnlineMusicNetwork.ca. Sportstream’s talented lineup of on-air talent includes Bill McLean, Shaun “Mavs” Gillis, Romy Aquino, Ryan Dickison and many others that bring a fresh, young voice to local sport.
Bringing It To You Now, And Later
Sportstream is proud to offer the most live online video streaming of local sports anywhere in Atlantic Canada, including SMU Huskies and now, the Atlantic University Sport Championships. We all know the best local sports experience is to watch the game in person. But when you can’t be there, we’ll bring it to you as it happens. We also offer original sports content produced from our studios in Downtown Halifax. Our growing team of local bloggers bring a perspective to the game that’s edgy, and right on target. With thousands of readers every week, we provide fresh coverage of local and national sports on a regular basis.
