Thursday, May 18, 2017 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that Hamilton Drive will be closed from one end of Stratmore Avenue to the other for about a month, beginning on Tuesday, May 23.
The street needs to be closed in order to facilitate the installation of water and sanitary mains to service the new Berry Hills Phase 6 development.
Crews will be on site Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Traffic safety personnel will direct motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists around the worksite, as needed. Residents at Civics 75, 77, and 81 Hamilton Drive will be directly affected by this closure and will be escorted in and out of the job site by the contractor’s traffic control personnel. All residents of Stratmore Avenue will have continuous access throughout the closure.
Motorists should expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes, if possible.
Access to Harry R. Hamilton Elementary School will be maintained at all times.
The municipality appreciates your patience while this work is underway.
