Police have charged a man following a sexual assault that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday in Bedford.
On June 7 at 1:35 a.m., an officer on patrol came across a car parked at the end of Waterfront Drive in Bedford. As the officer approached, he observed suspicious activity inside the car. After further investigation, it was determined that the man had sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy. The man was arrested at the scene. The accused and the victim were not known to one another, however they had previously communicated online.
Forty-five-year-old Craig Howard Potts of Hammonds Plains was held in custody over the weekend. He appeared in Halifax Provincial Court yesterday and was remanded into custody. He was scheduled to appear in court today to face charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and unlawful confinement.
