Hammonds Plains Road – Continuing Road Construction

Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that road construction will continue on Hammonds Plains Road, from Lucasville Road to Kingswood Drive, until approximately Nov. 16. This work is required as part of an ongoing storm water pipe and road widening project, which will result in much needed upgrades to storm water management and roadway infrastructure in this area. Crews will be on-site each weekday from now through Nov. 16 during the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of Remembrance Day, Friday, Nov.11. An altered centreline is in place to ensure two-way traffic is maintained during the morning and afternoon rush hour. There will be occasional stop-and-go traffic during the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., as required. The weather forecast will be assessed again early next week to determine if further work on this project will take place this fall. Remaining work on this project will be completed in the spring 2017. Motorists should expect delays in the area and are asked to use alternative routes, whenever possible. The municipality regrets any inconvenience this road work may cause. Source: Release
