Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that road construction will continue on Hammonds Plains Road, from Lucasville Road to Kingswood Drive, until approximately Nov. 10. This work is required as part of an ongoing storm water pipe and road widening project, which will result in much needed upgrades to storm water management and roadway infrastructure in this area.
Crews will be on-site each weekday from now through Nov. 10 during the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with stop and go traffic in place. At that time, the weather forecast will be assessed to determine if further work on this project will take place this fall. Remaining work on this project will be completed in the spring 2017.
Please note that on Friday, Nov. 4 (weather permitting) the traffic signals at Hammonds Plains Road and Lucasville Road will be shut down, and traffic control personnel will be in place. During the remaining work, stop and go traffic will be in place.
Motorists should expect long delays in the area and are asked to use alternative routes, whenever possible.
The municipality regrets any inconvenience this road work may cause.
