Heat Wave

It has been hotter than an elephants armpit the past few days, and unfortunately I don’t mean in Halifax. If you follow me (@shortpresents) you know I’m doing a bit of traveling (and, yes, the answer is again).

This summer has been SUPER busy with traveling and touring all around Canada, and the US. That’s what great summers are made of right?

FEATURED ITEMS: Dress, c/o Aritzia. Shoes, c/o Vince Camuto (similar). Body Chain, c/o Olive + Piper (and on sale). Sunnies, c/o Le Chateau.
Truth be told our winter almost killed me, (a) I’m not built for it I probably should be living in California, and (b) IT WAS SO BORING. Gosh I had being stuck indoors all the time I mean once in a while is okay but ALL THE TIME with crazy snow storm after snow storm I was about to lose my marbles.
I’m quite happy to be a tourist in the summer, and especially happy to tour places that get a little bit warmer than us on the East Coast. Recently I just left Montreal, and there were days where it was pushing almost 40 degrees, and I WAS WEARING PANTS and my health app on my phone told me I was averaging about 17 km of walking/running per day how I am still alive it beyond me.
Needless to say I was not prepared for these temperatures (mentally or physically), and I sure as heck won’t be putting myself into another pair of pants anytime soon given that I’m currently now in Toronto there’s a weather advisory about the heat. That’s okay though I’m quite content to wear my flowy dresses like this Senore dress from Aritzia. I also really like the Iambic Dress, and the Emiline dress; I just think they are perfect for summer.

Before jetting off to my adventures in Montreal, and Toronto (be sure to follow along @shortpresents) I had the absolute pleasure of shooting with the very talented Patrick Fulgencio here in Halifax on the one off day that it wasn’t raining although as you can see it was about to and it was wreaking havoc on my hair.

To say Patrick is a sweet heart is an absolute understatement. He’s seriously sweet, and his relaxed nature makes all his shoots feel effortless. If you’re looking for head shots, event coverage, or you just want some pretty amaze balls pictures be sure to check this guy out! To see more of Patrick’s work be sure to check out his website www.patrickfulgencio.com or click here.

Happy Friday Blog Readers where ever you are today! Make sure to stay tuned next week for my Montreal and Toronto recaps.
