The application process for the Heating Assistance Rebate Program (HARP) begins today, Oct. 31.
The rebate provides up to $200 to help Nova Scotians pay to heat their homes.
An easy-to-use online application option is new this year. Those who apply online can check the status of their application using the online system, and it is the fastest way to receive the rebate.
Citizens registered for direct deposit with Canada Revenue Agency will have their rebate deposited directly to their bank account.
Paper applications are still available at Access Nova Scotia Centres, Community Services’ offices, MLA offices, through more than 70 community groups and resource centres, and other locations across the province.
“Last year, the rebate helped more than 42,600 citizens and families heat their homes during the cold winter months,” said Service Nova Scotia Minister Mark Furey. “I encourage all Nova Scotians who can benefit from this program to apply.”
