Friday will see sunshine and intermittent cloud cover. Moving into the night, there’s a 60% chance of showers, and temperatures will decrease to around 15°C.

Expect rain on Saturday with a daytime high of 19°C, making it a wet and cooler day. Rain will persist through the night with temperatures of approximately 16°C.

Sunday brings a 20% chance of showers along with relatively cooler temperatures, reaching around 20°C during the day. Similar to the previous nights, there’s a 60% chance of showers during the night, accompanied by a low temperature of 13°C.

Periods of heavy rain expected beginning Friday evening.

Total rainfall: possibly reaching or exceeding 50 millimetres in 24 hours. Amounts could be significantly higher in places.

Locations: Western, Southwestern, northern and central Nova Scotia.

Time span: Friday evening until early Monday.

Remarks: Rainfall amounts could exceed 25 millimetres per hour locally. Heavy downpours can cause flash flooding and pooling of water. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Similar events have caused hazardous driving conditions and localised flooding in low-lying areas.
