Shortly before 1 a.m. on June 26, a member of Queens District RCMP noticed the driver of a vehicle spinning the tires while driving in a circular pattern, or doing donuts, on a helipad located on Harley Umphrey Dr. This activity is stunting according to the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act.
Police spoke to the 21-year-old male driver from White Point, Queens County and noted alcohol on his breath. He was given a Roadside Screening Device demand, which produced a ‘Warning’ reading, resulting in a seven-day suspension. The driver was also charged with Stunting, was fined $2422.50, he received a second, concurrent seven-day suspension, and his vehicle was towed.
Nova Scotia RCMP want to remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads. Road Safety is a priority for the RCMP, and drivers are reminded to make it their priority as well.
