High risk offender notification

In accordance with the Nova Scotia Release of a High-Risk Offender Protocol, the Nova Scotia RCMP is advising Nova Scotians, particularly those living in Yarmouth County, of the relocation of a high-risk sex offender.

Allen Desrosiers, 64, who was convicted of sexual offences in the United States, is now residing in the Rockville area of Yarmouth County. Desrosiers is described as white, 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, with blue eyes and white hair.

In 2019, Desrosiers, a Canadian citizen, completed a 23-year sentence in the US, for sexual offences committed in Massachusetts including Kidnapping, Aggravated Rape, Rape, Assault with Intent to Rape, Assault and Battery. His victims, who are all female, ranged in age from 16 to 47. 

Desrosiers was released after serving his full sentence, without conditions, and moved to Nova Scotia in August 2022. 

This information is provided to alert members of the public of Desrosiers’ presence in our community so they may take suitable precautionary measures.

The RCMP is warning that any form of vigilante activity or other unreasonable conduct will not be tolerated.
