Highway 103 shut down as Lunenburg County RCMP investigate fatal collision, Oakhill, N.S.

Lunenburg County RCMP were at the scene of a two-vehicle fatal collision on Highway 103.

At approximately 9:50 a.m. Monday, RCMP, Fire and Emergency Health Services (EHS) responded to a report of a head-on collision between a transport truck and a car.

Preliminary investigation determined that the tractor trailer was headed toward Bridgewater and that the car was headed toward Halifax when the collision occurred. RCMP can confirm that the female driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Traffic was rerouted at exit 11 (Blockhouse) and exit 12 (Bridgewater) and RCMP expected Highway 103 to be closed for an extended period of time. No further details available at this time.
