Highway 104 Closed Between Exit 18 and Exit 18 A, Colchester County, N.S.

The RCMP would like to advise the motoring public that traffic is being diverted on highway 104 west bound between exits 18 (Kemptown) and 18A (Mount Thom) until further notice.

At 5:00 p.m., Colchester RCMP responded to the collision involving a tractor trailer and a pick-up truck. Preliminary investigation reveal the tractor trailer was parked on the west bound shoulder of the highway just west of exit 18 (Kemptown) when it was rear ended by a pick up truck.

The two occupants of the tractor trailer, an adult man and woman, were not injured. A 62-year-old Bedford man who was the lone occupant of the pick-up truck was transported by EHS Life Flight to Halifax with serious injuries..

The cause of the collision remains under investigation and an RCMP Traffic Analyst has been called in to assist with the investigation.
