Highway 104 shut down to one lane as RCMP investigate Fatal Collision, Broadway, N.S.

Pictou County District RCMP are at the scene of a serious two vehicle head-on collision that killed a woman on Highway 104 in Broadway.

At approximately 5:05 p.m.

, Pictou County District RCMP, Emergency Health Services and the Barney’s River, New Glasgow, Merigomish and Thorburn Fire Departments responded to the collision at distance marker 193. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford car traveling westbound with three female occupants collided with a Chev pick-up truck traveling eastbound with two male occupants. One of the female occupants of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, one was air-lifted via LifeFlight to a Halifax hospital while the third one was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital. The two occupants of the truck were transported to the Aberdeen hospital. The extent of the injuries is not known at this time.

An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist has been called to assist and the investigation is continuing.
