Historical human remains found at Conrod Beach, Chezzetcook, N.S.

Police have located human remains in Lower East Chezzetcook that are believed to be historic in nature.

On September 28th, 2014 at approximately 12:07 p.m., Musquodoboit Harbour RCMP were contacted by individuals who were at the beach and had indicated they found possible human remains on Conrod Beach.

Investigators from the Homicide Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and the Medical Examiner’s Office attended the beach to examine the location where the bones were located.

Preliminary investigation by the Medical Examiner suggests given the bones significant age they are of archaeological interest. There is no information to suggest the remains are connected to any recent missing person’s cases.
