Hit & run: Injuries after woman and child struck

Incident occured near a gas station

On March 5, 2022 at approximately 5:15 p.m. a woman and a child were walking across a parking lot on Sunset St. in Pictou when a red Ford F150 backed out of a parking spot and into the woman and child, knocking them both down.

The driver of the truck, an older woman, failed to remain at the scene of the collision. The woman who was hit by the vehicle suffered minor injuries and the child was uninjured.

The driver of the truck was wearing a red and white coat and it is believed that she walks with a noticeable limp.

Police are asking that anyone who recognizes the driver or the red Ford F150 to contact Pictou County District RCMP Detachment at 902-485-4333.
