Hit & Run On Portland Sends One To Hospital

 
The Halifax Regional Police responded to the intersection of Portland St and Carver St for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles with one of the vehicles fleeing the scene. 
 One of the vehicles was travelling west bound on Portland St and as passing through the intersection the second involved vehicle was travelling south bound on Carver St failing to stop and striking the first vehicle. The impact of the collision caused the first vehicle to flip over onto its roof.  The second vehicle then fled the scene.
 
The driver of the first vehicle was transported to the hospital by EHS for medical assessment with non-life threatening injuries.
 
The vehicle which fled the scene is described as a white or light colored Grand AM and was last seen travelling west on Portland St. It is believed that this vehicle would have sustained front end damage from the collision. The matter remains under investigation.
