Hollis Street shooting ruled homicide

The shooting death that occurred on March 26, 2022 in the 1600 block of Hollis Street in Halifax has been ruled a homicide.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy yesterday and has ruled the manner of death to be a homicide. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Keezondre Kentrez Smith. Our thoughts are with Keezondre’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Police do not believe this was a random incident.

The investigation is being led by homicide investigators from the Special Investigations Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. The investigation is in its preliminary stages and police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call police at 902-490-5020.
