Iced tea is the answer my friends, and if you prepare it yourself it is so ridiculously cheap, if you skip the Starbucks and opt for your own iced tea you can afford early retirement.  When it comes to Ice Tea, less is more. Honestly it’s simple, all you need is three ingredients.

  • 2 Black tea bags (loose if you have it)
  • One Lemon
  • Honey

Yes, you read that right, there is no sugar. If you leave your tea sit long enough the honey and lemon is all you need for a delicious glass of Iced Tea (trust me).

In a tea pot steep your tea in hot water for 3-5 minutes (I like it strong so I let it sit)
While your tea steeps, cut your lemon in half. Squeeze one half into the tea, and slice the other for garnish, and put aside. You could add more lemon; feel it out for yourself and adjust to taste.
Once your tea is steeped pour into a larger picture, spoon in about 1-2 table spoons of honey, and add lemons and ice cubes.
Mix together and refrigerate (longer the better).
Keeps up to 5 days in the refrigerator, but it won’t last that long trust me.

Play around with adding lemonade, mint, rosemary and other ingredients. This is just a basic recipe you could always jazz it up with some alcohol if you are inclined. Just remember to drink plenty of water in between, so you aren’t dehydrated.

Happy Thursday,
