Homicide On Titus Street: One Charged

At 11:20 pm members of the Halifax Regional Police responded to the area of Alma Crescent in Halifax for a report of a stabbing. Officers located a 25 year old male with on the corner of Ashdale Crescent and Titus Street suffering from a stab wound. The male was pronounced dead by EHS shortly after their arrival. Officers checked the area with the assistance of a K9 unit but could not locate the suspect.
 
Members of the Integrated Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section were called to attend the scene and continue the investigation. Presently officers are still on scene. Several areas are condoned off to allow further examination. Titus Street is open for vehicular traffic.

Police have a man and woman in custody in relation to last night’s homicide.

At 2 a.m., officers arrested a man and woman at an Evans Avenue address, and they are still custody for questioning.
 
Investigators in the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are continuing the investigation. Several areas remain cordoned off to allow for forensic examination, including Alma Crescent and sidewalks on Titus Street.  Titus Street is open to vehicular traffic.
Police have charged a man in relation to last night’s homicide.
 
At 11:20 p.m., members of Halifax Regional Police responded to the area of Alma Crescent in Halifax for a report of a stabbing. Officers located a 25-year-old man on the corner of Ashdale Avenue and Titus Street suffering from a stab wound. The man, who has been identified as 25-year-old Marc Bernard Tremblay of Halifax, was pronounced deceased by EHS shortly after their arrival. At 2 a.m., officers arrested a man and woman at an Evans Avenue address for questioning.  The woman was released early this afternoon without charges.
 
Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit have charged 18-year-old Aidan David Cromwell with second degree murder and two counts of breach of recognizance. He will be held in custody over the weekend and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday, February 6 to answer to the charges.
