Hooters Fire Was Deliberately Set, Police Catch A Fairview Robbery As It Happened

Fire at Hooters in Dartmouth deliberately set, two youth rob an individual right in front of Police, and two other robberies with assault over the last 24 hours. From HRPD:

At 1825 hours, West Quick Response Unit members observed a male walking on Evans Ave.  Three males were seen to block the male’s path at which time one of the suspects raised his fists and asked if the victim wanted to be knocked out.   The suspect behind him then took his cell phone, knife and $5.00 in cash from him.  The suspects then returned the phone and left with the other items.   WQRU members arrested two of the suspects who are being held for court in the morning, facing robbery charges.  The suspects are both males, aged 17 and 18.

Arson

The Fire Dep’t contacted police to report that the fire at Hooters, 120 Main Street, has been deemed the result of arson and thus the scene was turned over to HRP.  The scene is being held for daylight, with the matter being investigated by the General Investigative Section.

The victim, a 17 year old male, was walking in the area of Lacewood and Willett was he was asked by a male waiting at the bus stop if he wanted to share a joint with him.  This male was in the company of two other males.  The victim refused after which the suspect punched him in the eye, hit him over the head with a beer bottle and further assaulted him once he was on the ground.  The suspect then took the victim’s IPOD after which all three suspects  fled on foot.    The suspect is described as a white male, 5 8"- 5 9" , between 17 and 21 years of age, wearing a black jacket with white stripes.  The area was searched with negative results  and the matter is being investigated by the General Investigative Section.

At 0030 hours, the victim, a 54 year old male, was walking in the area of Victoria and Portland Street when he was assaulted by two males who took a small quantity of cash from him.   The victim suffered injuries to his face and mouth but refused medical treatment.   The area was searched with negative results.  The only description the victim could relate was that the suspects were both black males between the ages of  30 and 35.
