People are still talking about the surprising (and sad) conclusion to Monday night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother, and they’re still debating whether the countdown from 50 to 1 during the episode was cheesy or interesting. For me it was neither because I barely noticed it. Luckily, the world has this thing called YouTube where people make videos like this:

It’s still kind of fast and I couldn’t quite catch every number, but seeing the whole thing like that has tipped me off the fence onto the side of pro-countdown. I think it was clever and funny, and even though that episode featured an incredibly heartbreaking momemt, HIMYM is still a clever (most of the time) and funny (…most of the time) show. The episode was more than just that one devastating scene. There were lots of antics that lead up to the moment, like Robin’s Humiliating Montage and Barney’s doppelganger.
