HRM CAO Dan English Retires

Statement from Dan English in yesterday's HRM release:

Dear Colleagues:
I wanted you to know that I have decided to retire as Chief Administrative Officer of Halifax Regional Municipality.  It is with mixed emotions that I share this news as I have thoroughly enjoyed the last five years as CAO of Halifax Regional Municipality.
My time as CAO has been amongst the most meaningful years of my career.  I have been privileged to serve the residents of our community and to have been a part of many important initiatives that have shaped our region.
I could not be more proud of the dedicated team of professional staff who every day provide quality service to our residents, dispense sound advice, are efficient, responsive and ultimately are the face of HRM in our community.  I have been, and continue to be humbled by HRM municipal staff and the work you do in the service of citizens.
A career in the public service is fulfilling and rewarding.  I have been privileged to work with not only a dedicated staff team, but also with world class business and community leaders and members of Regional Council.  The community of Halifax is indeed a force to be reckoned with on the national stage.
I look forward to continuing to support and advocate for the growth of our city in my future undertakings.
Regards,
Dan English
