HRM Offices, Customer Service Centres Closing, Recreation Programs Impacted by Forecasted Weather

22, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Please be advised that Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) is experiencing a number of weather-related shutdowns and cancellations.

Due to the significant snow accumulation forecasted over the coming hours, administrative offices of HRM will be closing as of 12 p.m. and Customer Service Centres are scheduled to close at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Several HRM recreation facilities are also closed and programs may be impacted by the winter storm. Residents are asked to contact their recreation centre to confirm the status of facility operations.

Municipal operations, particularly snow and ice clearing, remain an ongoing priority. Metro Transit will continue running, adjusting service and routing based on weather and road conditions.

Fire and police services continue to be provided and residents will have ongoing access to HRM’s 311 telephone service.
