HRM staff have put forward a report with what they’re calling “five big ideas,” that they want incorporated in the city’s planning cycle. All of the ideas focus on “active transportation,” which means encouraging walking, running, bicycling, etc.
One of the big ideas focuses on the Clayton Park-Spryfield area. The idea would pave along Dunbrack Street/Northwest Arm Drive, out to the Chain of Lakes Trail and Old Sambro Road. There would also be a bike lane along part of Old Sambro Road, which would extend to reach the McIntosh Run Trail that was put in last year.
You can take a look at the PDF map with the suggestions here. Look at page 13 of 21. This section of the plan will cost an estimated $2,000,000.
