HRP investigate a sexual assault in Halifax

West Division Units responded to the area of Winners on Chain Lake Drive in Baye­rs Lake yesterday ju­st after 4pm to a re­port of a sexual ass­ault.  Officers lear­ned after speaking to the complainant she was walking in the area and a man who was not known to her started to engage her in conversation.  During the conversa­tion the man attempt­ed to kiss the female complainant and se­xually assaulted her overtop of her clot­hing.  The female br­oke away from the man and ran to safety.

The suspect in this matter is described as a black man weari­ng a blue jacket with grey hair who appe­ared to be in his si­xties.

The file has been re­ferred to the Sexual Assault Investigati­on Team for follow up.

The investigation in­to this matter is co­ntinuing. Anyone with information about this incident is ask­ed to contact police at 902-490-5020.
