At approximately 11:40 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a business on fire in the 300 block of Windmill Rd. The fire was out when officers arrived, however, police located evidence suggesting that the fire was set deliberately. The fire damage was contained to the entrance area of the business and there were no injuries as a result of the fire. Patrol members and a police K9 member searched the area but were unable to locate the responsible person(s). A member of the HRP Forensic Identification Section attended to process the scene. The matter will be investigated by members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division anyone who may have any knowledge of this incident and ask that they contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020.
