At approximately 9:30pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery at 271 Lacewood Dr, Royal Bank of Canada. Upon arrival officers learned that a 69 year old female attended the drive-thru ATM at this location where she was confronted by a male suspect who pointed a handgun at her while demanding that she withdraw money from the ATM. The victim was able to withdraw some money, which was taken by the suspect who then fled the scene on foot. The victim was not physically injured during the incident. Patrol officers assisted by K9 searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as male, wearing a grey hooded jacket with dark sunglasses. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any information that may assist investigators to contact Halifax Regional Police at (902) 490-5016 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
