HRP investigate two overnight incidents : Robbery in Bedford / Arson in Halifax

Police Investigate Robbery – Bedford

At 11:0 p.m., 12 October, Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery that had just occurred in the 700 block of the Bedford Highway, Bedford.

A male reported a male and female threatened to harm him with scissors and robbed him of his cash and cellular phone. The caller was not injured.

Multiple patrol officers responded to the scene.

At 11:28 p.m., patrol officers located and arrested the suspects on the Bedford Highway near Fern Avenue. Incidental to arrest officers located and seized Canadian currency and a cell phone confirmed to belong to the victim.

The suspects, a 35 year old male and 33 year old female both from Bedford are held for court and will be facing charges of Robbery, Assault with a Weapons and Uttering Threats cause Bodily Harm.

The suspects and victim are known to one another and police are not looking for any other suspects.

Police Investigate Arson – Halifax

At 11:29 p.m., 12 October, Halifax Regional Police and HRM Fire & Emergency responded to a Fire Canadian Tire, 6203 Quinpool Road Halifax. Multiple callers reported seeing flames in or around the Canadian Tire. Police confirmed two sheds belonging to the Mall were engulfed in flames.

HRM Fire attended and extinguished the fires. Fire Investigators confirmed the fire was intentionally set and the Arson investigation has been turned over to police.

There are no suspects at this time.
