At 11:10 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to 21 Gaston RD. to assist Halifax Fire at the scene of a fire at this location, the Gaston Rd Variety Store. The west side of the building was on fire, the lone occupant got out of the building safely, no one was injured. Fire investigators and the Halifax Regional Police Forensic member attended the scene, and the fire is believed to be an arson. The General Investigative Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigative Division will be continuing the investigation.
