HRP Investigating Early Morning Assault

Police are investigating an assault which occurred in Halifax early yesterday morning.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on October 4, police responded to the QEII Health Sciences Centre for a report of an assault that occurred at 3:45 a.m. that morning. A 21-year-old man reported that he was standing in the 5100 block of Salter Street trying to get a taxi, when he was approached from behind by an unknown man. The suspect punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. A witness advised police that there was a second man who also punched the victim. The suspects left the area on foot heading towards Barrington Street, possibly with a number of other men. The victim attended the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injures. He later called the police from hospital.
 
The first suspect is described as a white man in his twenties, 6’ or taller, with a thick build and bald or buzzed hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie at the time of the incident. The second suspect is described as a white man in his twenties.
