At 12:35 p.m., police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred at the intersection of Bayers Road and Romans Avenue. A car was travelling outbound on Bayers Road when it struck a woman as she was crossing the street in a crosswalk. The 36-year-old woman was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The 54-year-old male driver was issued two summary offence tickets under of the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to obey a traffic signal and failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
